Carla Bertoli was born in August 1963 in Milan, where she currently lives and works. During his childhood he knew the craftsmanship through the figures of his great-grandfather, a skilled wood carver, and his father, goldsmith and artist, exhibited his creations for the Cusi company in Milan, at the Moma in New York in the 1950s / 55s. This familiarity with artistic techniques and the interest in art as a privileged channel of expression led her to study the ancient mosaic technique: from 1994 to 2000 she attended several courses in mosaics, then in 2002 she attended Paolo's Studio. Maimonte, teacher of the School of Applied Arts of the Castello Sforzesco in Milan. Here he deepens the historical knowledge of the technique from the Byzantine era to today, the study of chromatic relationships and materials. A different area of interest, namely that relating to the vibratory knowledge of crystals and the chromatic properties of semiprecious stones, characterize the production of the beginnings. The formative phase of the artist is nourished in these years of fertile encounters: in the living room of Maria Teresa Isenburg, known as Maté, who introduces her to the use of materials taken from everyday life, fragmented to which an artistic function is given; at the same time he strengthened his interest in pictorial expression by attending the Vittorio Viviani Free Academy of Painting in the two-year period 2008/2009. These are the years in which Carla Bertoli identifies the reference genre of her artistic research: the portrait, of famous people and patrons, takes up chromatic contrasts typical of Pop Art, enriched by refined frame cuts. Starting from 2007, the research expands: the pictorial language joins the mosaic technique which, in addition to being more and more masterful in the execution, also becomes a field of experimentation: Carla Bertoli transforms recycled elements into mosaic material, into pictorial pieces and volumetric that make up parts of the support. In 2012 he obtained the Certificate of Completion of the Abramovic Method. In 2013 she began a parallel path, evolving her artistic skills, immersing herself in abstractionism, this allowed her to experiment with new painting techniques and create new chromatic effects, pushing herself beyond the limit imposed by forms.

Art is everything… and everything can be used to “make Art”, thanks to the creativity, inspiration and technique of the artist. Carla Bertoli realizes her art with flair and genius, combined with a strong communicative charge and a rare chromatic sensitivity. The artistic current in which he best expresses his talent is Pop Art, without disdaining, however, forays into abstract art. His works often combine painting with mosaic techniques, for which he uses recycled materials; these are transformed into material elements that give the work a dimensional depth full of imagination. His Art is perceived with sight, but it is also imagined by touch, arousing emotion and bringing fragments of everyday life to new life. Each work bears witness to the artist's bursting vital energy. Carla Bertoli has exhibited in international exhibitions at Cultural Institutes, Museums, Foundations and prestigious art galleries. His compositions have an official quotation. Mixed technique that blends research, culture, painting and a modern cut of the mosaic, Carla Bertoli converts the use of recycled materials into an artistic form, uses recycled elements with the mosaic technique and transforms them into pictorial and volumetric pieces that make up the parts support in 3D. The photographs of Carla Bertoli's works, although indispensable for giving a taste of her art, will unfortunately never be able to fully convey the materiality, three-dimensionality, concreteness and emotion contained in her creations.
Currently Carla Bertoli continues her artistic research by exploring the limits and intersections between painting and mosaic, and collaborates with designers and architects.
His works have participated in group exhibitions together with works by artists such as: Ugo Nespolo and Roberto Talaia, Amedeo Modigliani, Mimmo Rotella, Raffaele De Grada, Francesco Menzio, Sandro Trotti, Pietro Annigoni, Antonio Nunziante, Piero Ruggeri, Aldo Mondino, Giuseppe Pinot Gallizio, Carol Rama, Alighiero Boetti, Francesco Tabusso, Marco Lodola, Manuella Muerner Marioni, Cesare Viola, Vittorio Nocera, Francesco Fortino, Riccardo Gilardoni, Silvio Amelio, Paolo Menon.
