Claudia Scalera

I was born in Rome but since 1980 I have lived and worked in the province of Milan.
Daughter of a painter, I undertook artistic studies first in Udine and then in Venice. Creativity has always inspired my life but only in 2012 at a time of existential change I began to devote myself to paintings and exhibit.
I like to create by inserting abandoned objects whose first life is in my works ended and await a second chance.
I have recurring symbolic elements, faces often have only one eye open because it is the one with which one looks outside, the closed or missing one is dedicated
to introspection. The "bodices" symbolize the body that expresses itself, tells, a sometimes it screams.
The rarefied atmosphere of the backgrounds is the “suspended” time in which we sometimes live.
